Originally organized in 1943 as a volunteer fire department we are chartered in the Commonwealth of Virginia as Davis Corner Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Inc. We no longer have volunteer firefighters and are generally referred to as Davis Corner Volunteer Rescue Squad. Serving primarily the Town Center, Haygood, Aragona, Lake Smith, and Wesleyan areas of Virginia Beach our ambulances respond to calls throughout the largest city in Virginia. Davis Corner, also known as Rescue 2, responded to over 12,800 calls in 2012.
With the help of public donations, City of Virginia Beach, and the Commonwealth of Virginia grants and our volunteers, we have provided emergency medical care at NO COST to the patient!
